Community Guidelines

NuvStem is a learning-support community involving students, tutors, reviewers, mentors, contributors, opportunity providers, and staff.

These Guidelines are intended to keep interactions honest, respectful, safe, and useful.

Be respectful

Treat people with dignity and professionalism.

Disagreement is allowed. Harassment, intimidation, threats, exploitation, and abuse are not.

Academic integrity comes first

Use NuvStem to understand and improve your work.

Do not use the Services for:

• plagiarism;
• contract cheating;
• exam compromise;
• answer-key theft;
• impersonation;
• fabrication;
• falsification; or
• prohibited assignment completion.

No harassment, hate, threats, or exploitation

Do not:

• harass or stalk others;
• threaten violence;
• promote hatred or discrimination against protected groups;
• sexually harass another person;
• exploit a power imbalance;
• coerce students, tutors, mentors, or staff;
• retaliate against a person for reporting a concern; or
• impersonate another person.

Protect minors and maintain boundaries

Adults interacting with minors through NuvStem must maintain appropriate professional boundaries and comply with guardian, institutional, and legal requirements.

Do not use NuvStem to:

• groom or sexually exploit a minor;
• request sexual content from a minor;
• arrange unsafe or undisclosed private meetings with a minor; or
• bypass required parent, guardian, school, or institutional involvement.

Serious safety concerns may result in immediate restriction or termination and may be handled as required by law.

No illegal or materially harmful use

Do not use NuvStem to request or facilitate unlawful activity or serious harm.

No spam, scams, malware, or platform abuse

Do not:

• send spam;
• run scams;
• distribute malware;
• phish for credentials;
• share or sell accounts;
• scrape without authorization;
• bypass rate limits or access controls;
• probe security without permission; or
• interfere with the Services.

Respect privacy and confidentiality

Do not disclose another person's private information without permission or lawful authority.

Do not use NuvStem to dox, expose, intimidate, or harass another person.

Do not upload confidential company, research, academic, or personal information unless you are authorized to do so and the disclosure is necessary.

Respect intellectual property

Do not upload stolen answer keys, copyrighted materials, private course materials, proprietary company information, or another person's work unless you have the right to share it.

Be honest about mentorship and opportunities

Students must not falsify qualifications, experience, identity, academic status, or work samples.

Mentors and opportunity providers must not misrepresent:

• identity;
• employer affiliation;
• credentials;
• compensation;
• funding;
• project ownership;
• academic credit;
• confidentiality requirements; or
• the actual nature of an opportunity.

Enforcement

Depending on severity and context, NuvStem may:

• warn a user;
• decline a request;
• remove or restrict content;
• limit features;
• suspend an account;
• permanently terminate access;
• preserve evidence of suspected fraud or security abuse; or
• cooperate with valid lawful requests.
